BSC REACTIONS TO CHASING LOVE Chasing Love," attempts to examine perceptions of romantic affairs about friendship and everything that falls under it. It's not who you love, it's how The Character of Holden (Mirro), is a sensitive, twentysomething rapper working with his lifelong friend. He meets Heather (April), and was smitten, but soon learns that she is a lesbian. That doesn't stop Holden, however. The two become close friends, but things go awry when Holden falls deeply in love with her. Chasing Love could have been a comedy about unrequited love, but it manages to rise above that. There are several points in the play where you feel you know exactly where the story is headed, but rather than head off predictability with a random plot twist, instead the characters to take the play in an entirely new direction on their own merit. There are real human feelings and problems involved in the characters relationship, and, every time the story threatens to devolve into a clich, it somehow avoids the trap. There's also a well-off illustration to the difficulty that many individuals face in attaining a level of comfort with their sexual identity. The best scenes are those that explore the evolving relationship between Holden and Heather. There's a wonderful montage that depicts them doing all the kinds of things that friends do. Ever wondered exactly what lesbians do when they're together? Or how they define "virginity"? Its also evident in Chasing Love. Chasing Love is entertainment of the best sort. For nearly two hours, it keeps the audience enraptured. There aren't many missteps, and, those few that exist are minor and easily forgiven. Though all the turns of the plot may not please everyone, it is rare to find an intelligent craft like this that is willing to take the chances. Chasing Love is touching, funny, sweet, and most important of all, real -- a welcome breath of fresh air, though the ambiance in Taco Joes that time was a crowd and all that quenched was just a glass of iced tea. &'3467l s . : 6OJQJ]OJQJ6OJQJ]^J6OJQJ]^Jo(5OJQJ\^J5OJQJ\^Jo( OJQJ^J56g . $dh`a$$dha$$a$$a$ 1h/ =!"#$% i8@8 NormalCJ_HaJmH sH tH <A@< Default Paragraph FontJg@J HTML TypewriterCJOJPJQJ^JaJo(.U@.
